定义是用来解释多元宇宙的存在，每个位面都有各自的位面特性，存在的诸位面是多种不同世界的集合，这些世界之间有着错综复杂的联系。除了很少几个连接点以外，每个位面事实上都是一个独立的宇宙，有着它自己的自然法则。

现在我的问题来了，说：

"每个位面都被密封在自己气泡似的晶壁系中，而这些晶壁系则悬浮在一种被称为元素的琥珀色流体中。"

有人说，这句话出自网络写手，而且这种描述被认为是与d&d设定大相径庭的。

他指出，这个概念在游戏《龙与地下城》中引用，正确的描述是，主物质位面的燃素海中，漂浮着被包裹在鸡蛋壳般晶壁中的各个晶壁系——对这种官方设定，绝对不能指望网络作家们对此有任何理解。
